If you have been to our shop in the Arts Colony of Downtown Pomona, you know we have some really great buildings with a cool, old school, downtown vibe. Well Metro PCS like our little downtown so much that they decided to film here! And used our little shop in their commercial! How cool is that? I'm used to film crews in Pomona - Hollywood films commercials, TV pilots and films here all the time. In fact, my building was in the newest Joaquin Phoenix movie. Cult Gaia vs. Steve Madden - both wrong?

So here's the gist - Cult Gaia makes these reproduction Japanese bamboo bags. Women in the Rockabilly and Tiki scene have owned them for decades. You used to only be able to buy them vintage until Cult Gaia started reproducing them. Verbtim. Not inspired. But exact copies. More power to them. I sold one at Pickwick Vintage and Textiles about a year ago and had no problem selling it for much less than the $300 price tag for the mass produced one because I knew it was special and going to a good home. Heeeeyyyy! It's been a while. If you started with me back when I started the Debutante Blog, before there was a shop, you know I've been around a very, very, very long time.
